Cancer bisects your life and you become two people, one before cancer and one after cancer. It's not all bad though, especially depending on how life was before cancer.
In Canada this woman was denied early intervention due to public healthcare.
When it comes to Late Stage Capitalism we do not think of Canada. Yet in USA this woman had a chance with Private Insurance plus some funds on her own (possibly around 100K or less).
I had a massive heart attack on October 2018 (two weeks before my 50th birthday). I have four stents. My out of pocket expense was $5000 over two insertions (15 days apart).
You're not going to convince me the Canadian public healthcare system is worse than the US for-profit nightmare I live in.
I think speculating as to the causes of a particular instance of cancer isn't productive. But stress isn't a good thing for people and living in a country with no safety nets and healthcare used as a prison to keep people beholden to their employers certainly doesn't help.
